ESPN Pick’ems Week 14 Review

All the Championships games have ended and it worked out probably like most anticipated it to. Yeah, Utah getting blown out by Oregon was a bit of a head scratcher but let’s be honest… the PAC 12 wasn’t probably getting into the play-off anyway.

Sure, Wisconsin had its moment against Ohio State but nobody really took it THAT serious even when the Badgers led 21-7.

Even though Baylor tried to get our hopes up…AGAIN… by attempting to shock Oklahoma, the Sooners proved to be the better team in the end. Again.

And yeah, LSU’s offense is really good even against a really good defense. With or without injuries. But the Tiger Defense looks to be hitting its’ stride too.

The ACC Championship game was total ...

Week 14 Review

In typical fashion, rivalry weekend did not disappoint.  Not only did Auburn crush Alabama’s playoff hopes, Wisconsin eliminated Minnesota’s as well.

The day started with a beat down in Ann Arbor by the Buckeyes.  Michigan kept it close in the 1st half, but turnovers, lots of dropped passes, and penalties in the 2nd half allowed the Buckeyes to pull away.  Jim Harbaugh is 0-5 against the Buckeyes and a lot of fans are not happy about it.

Clemson, LSU and Georgia handled their business by blowing out their opponents.  Oklahoma was finally able to put the game away against Oklahoma State.  Utah ran all over Colorado.  It will be a tight race to claim that 4th spot for the playoffs if these teams can win their conference game this weekend.  Utah will battle Oregon, Oklahoma will get a rematch in Baylor.  ...

ESPN Pick’ems Week 13 Review

Admit it, this is what we’ve been waiting for all year. Week 13 was full of great games, some upsets, and some teams barely surviving in order to get into the playoff. LSU, Ohio State, and Clemson just might be the three top teams that get in, but there’s a battle for that fourth spot.

For a while, it appeared Ohio State was going to run away from Penn State…until it didn’t. Up 21-0, the Buckeyes were in full control of the game…and then Penn State scored the next 17 points. However, Ohio State turned the lights out on Penn State with one more touchdown drive to win the game 28-17. For the first time, the Buckeyes looked mortal. This week, Ohio State travels to Michigan.

Georgia appeared to sleep-walk in their 19-13 ...

ESPN Pick’ems Week 12 Review

There were some really good games over the weekend and some really good finishes. Two undefeated teams went down.

Undefeated and 8th ranked Minnesota traveled to Iowa to take on the Hawkeyes which was a nail biter to the very end. The Gophers could never get a lead on Iowa and eventually fell to the Hawkeyes. To be fair though, Kinnick Stadium is a tough place to play in.

For a while, it appeared that Baylor was going to embarrass Oklahoma leading 31-10 at the half. And then all of a sudden, the Sooner defense kept Baylor scoreless in the second half and the Oklahoma offense went on a 24 point tear to win the game 34-31 in an epic comeback.

After Georgia went up 21-0, I turned the channel to ...

ESPN Pick’ems Week 11 Review

Week 11 was a BIG week in College Football. Not only did we see unbeaten teams go down, but we saw exactly why Championships are won in November.

LSU stunned Alabama on Saturday but the most shocking part of it all…Alabama assisted the Tigers in the win. The Tide marched down the field on their opening possession looking to score seven points only to have Tua fumble the ball…without even getting touched. LSU recovered the fumble and would eventually score a touchdown off of that possession. But LSU was better than Alabama Saturday night. The Tigers played with poise and responded even as Alabama mounted a furious comeback. LSU has all but locked up the SEC West.

Minnesota remained unbeaten after upending Penn State 31-26 and now sits on top of the Big 10 ...
