Matthew 8

(14) And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever. (15) And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

Mark 1

(29) And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. (30) But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her. (31) And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

Luke 4

(38) And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. (39) And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.

This miracle is recorder 3 times in the gospels, and I find it very interesting that Matthew, Mark and Luke show different view points to the story. Please note, these are in no way contradicting each other. Just how they each viewed and recorded what they possibly thought would have been relevant. Just as if there were 3 of us in a room and viewing a movie. If we were to write a synopsis of it, those the story line would be the same, some details of it would not as we would differently view the importance of what we would write.

  We do know that from what is written, is Jesus has just left the synagogue where he cast out the unclean spirit. He goes into Simon’s (Peter) house and is informed Simon’s mother is ill with fever.

  One says, He touched her hand, one says he took her by the hand and lifted her up, the other says He stood over her and rebuked the fever. You could almost say that depending where you were, in front of Jesus, behind Jesus, or even to the side of Jesus, it would be easy to view as Matthew, Mark and Luke did.

   What is important is this. They all state that the fever left, and she immediately arose, and ministered to them. Sometimes we are so busy being petty on irrelevant details, we forget the whole picture. She weas healed instantly.

  We have to Trust the Lord will accomplish what we will allow Him to do in our lives. I think we get so caught up on unimportant things and end up missing the big picture.

Proverbs 3:5   Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding.

Isaiah 53:5   But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
