Today we are going to start our studies in Ecclesiastes in Chapter 3 verse 2. Let’s focus on a "time to be born”. Throughout history, we know of many events pertaining to certain people in life. We have a very good timeline of many famous, or should I say popular people in history. I have often heard people say I wish I was born during such and such time, even I have probably said that from time to time. God’s plan has us all born in the time the He needs us or wants us to be able to do His work. Of course, many of us do not allow God to use us in any way and we figure what my use, why am I even here. I am just passing through this life. Outside Adam and Eve, we all must be born. I firmly believe God has a time for each and everyone us to be born. When we look at the stories in the Bible there are very specifics on being born timelines or God’s plan would not have moved on in the fashion that we see it today.

One of the first examples is the story of Abraham and Isaac. In Genesis 20, We read when Abraham and Sara, when they went to Gerar, Abraham told King Abimelec Sarah was his sister and took her for his own. The Lord did come to the king in a dream warning that Sara was Abraham’s wife and the king never touched her. This is a great example of God letting us know there is a time to be born, and it was not Sarah’s time to get pregnant. Note at this time, the king’s wife and servants could not bare children, but when you read the chapter and see what takes place in the end, God heals the king’s wife and servants, and they are now able to bare children. Then we move on to Genesis 21 to see that God now allows Sara to bare a son, Issac. There was a certain time for Isaac to be born.

Let’s look at Kind David, you will read about him much in the Old Testament and referred to in the New Testament. Fun fact, did you know he was born in Bethlehem? His father was Jesse. Hopefully we all pretty much know about David or maybe significant events in David’s life. Let’s just say for example, if David was not born when he was born, who would have taken on Goliath? You will read this story in 1st Samuel 17. Israel was doomed. David’s bravery and faith in God single handedly saved Israel, with God’s help of course. No one at that time seemed to trust the Lord as David did to go up against Goliath. David timing of being born was perfect.

Let us look at Jesus. We can always ask ourselves, could Jesus have been born earlier or possibly later, and would it even had matter at the time, wouldn’t the results be the same? I am going to go out on a limb and say probably not. When we read about Jesus and His journey many certain people had to be in place. Mary and Joseph had to already be  born. The disciples had to be born when they were, King Herod had to be King at the time. John the Baptist needed to be in place. The list goes on and on. The people in all the stories had to have had their time to be born for everything to be worked out to perfection.

What about us. I am a firm believer that we also have had God give us our appointed time to be born. In Job Chapter 14 there are many references to how long we have. So there must be an appointed time that we are born.

Job 14: 5  Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, Thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;

Job 14:14  If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, Till my change come.

Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

God knows when it is time for each and everyone of us to be born.

If we do not believe God has an appointed time for each and everyone of us, we need to start looking deep down inside to figure what out what God has planned for us. We are just as important a part in God’s Kingdom, as David was, as Abraham was, as Moses was, as Elijah was, etc etc etc.  1st Peter 2 calls us "chosen”. We studied that a couple weeks ago. We are not here by chance; we have been perfectly put here for a perfect reason at the perfect time. We were born when God appointed us to be born. The people in our lives have been perfectly put here for us, yes some good and bad. It is all in God’s perfect timing. There is a time for each and everyone of us to be born.

Did you know the Old Testament was written about 1000 years before Jesus died? That in the Old Testament about 300 passages can be related to the foretelling of the coming of Jesus, things that happened leading to his birth, during his life and details about his death? How is that possible, and what are the odds?

God's timing for his birth and life on earth and ultimately his death was timed by God. It had a purpose. And a purpose for our life and death.

There are 2 things we cannot escape. Our birth, and our death.
The actual conception and birth is still somewhat still a medical mystery. How a fetus starts forming from nothing, how the heartbeat starts, how a woman's body does what it does to prepare for a growing infant inside of her, nuturing and delivering a baby is amazing and unexplainable how we form inside the womb and how God created a womans body to adjust and give birth. I saw a recent article and video that showed Dr's had discovered at the very moment of conception there is a slight flash of light when it happens! What is that? How does that happen? Is it divine?
Eccles 11:5 says "As thou knoweth not what is the way of the spirit now how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who make the all."
I am sure you remember the verse by David, " ...I am fearfully and wonderfully made.." Psalm 139:14
God has called us into existence. He already had plans for us before we were born. I believe our destiny is predetermined by God before birth. No human being born has ever been a mistake. God makes no mistakes.
From the womb to our death, we were created to live for God.
He already knew what our life would be, He knew what our sins would be, He knows how many hairs are on our head.
Every single thing about us being born is important to God. He knows the end before the beginning of us. Just like everything else.
Isaiah 44:24 "...and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that make the all things..."
Isaiah 49:1 "...the Lord hath called me from the womb: from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name."

Just like men and women in the Bible, Mike mentions Abraham, David, Mary and Joesph, John...
Think about Noah. Esther. King Solomon ( David's father). The list goes on and on about people God used to do amazing things, and all the works of God thru them. All of it leading to their specific role in time was the perfect timing for God's purposes. Their time to be born ordained by God to fulfill their destiny by God for their purpose. So we have to know God already knows the future to plan like that.
And, we have to know He has a purpose for us also.
We were important enough to God about our births and lives that He sent Jesus to die for us so we would be able to be brought back into fellowship and worship with God for an eternal life forever. God never separates from us, we separate from God.
No one will ever know us like God does. He knows us better than anyone else.
I think when we are born in "the image of God" as we were created to be. I think it may not be as physical as it would be spiritually in regards to the representation of God's love, morality and holiness given to us from our creator. We are born to be representatives of God and His kingdom. Our path is made for us to decide what we want to do, and to correct our transgressions in life, etc. Free will from a certain age to understand what we choose to do, right or wrong. God never wants us to sin or lose us to Satan. But, ultimately we make that choice. We will never be perfect or sinless. God knows that. But, he gives us the choice to change and try to do right or fall under the clutches of sin and the devil's ways.
We have to know God knew us before we were born. We have a purpose whether we realize it or not. Perhaps, our purpose and God's timing for that specific purpose has not come yet. Look how old Moses was, God told him he was a mighty warrior and deliverer...God told Abraham he would be the father of many children, yet he had to wait years for his own wife to bear Issac, who's sons would be Jacob and Esau. Think of all their stories, their purpose. We could go and on with all the people we have not mentioned yet that had significant roles in the past from just the Bible itself.

Don't ever think you were born without purpose by God. Don't compare yourself to someone else. Their purpose may not be your purpose. Why am I here? Ask God what He wants from you, what His purpose is for you.
