General Amongstus Conducts Press Conference

Halland News – Today, General Amongstus updated Halland citizens with a press conference that was locally televised. The General spoke about a broad range of topics which included the McDonaldland cabin retreat incident, strong ties with Hall Republic, growing threats in the region, and updates on the Halland military.

The General began the press conference speaking about the McDonaldland cabin retreat incident. "I did consider and almost authorized a military operation on a key McDonaldland unit responsible for the cabin retreat incident but have since reconsidered. However, since no loss of life did occur, we will most likely proceed with sanctions which are still to be determined in order to maintain peace,” stated the General. "Incidents like the cabin retreat moving forward will be handled differently with far greater consequences.” The General did not comment on if a scale back of forces near the McDonaldland border would take place considering there are approximately 1,000 combat troops and over 200 vehicles currently present at the McDonaldland border.

During the press conference the General praised the Hall Republic Leader for being a key ally in a politically challenged climate. The General used words such as "Heroic” and "Great Ally” when describing the Hall Republic Leader. General Amongstus was also very pleased after meeting with the Hall Republic Leader last week and thought the time together was "time well spent” and that, "both were operating from the same playbook.”

The General also elaborated that the Halland military would once again be going through another restructure in 2018. "Our Halland Infantry Divisions form the backbone of our great military, and within the next year, we’ll likely eliminate the HQ Combat Division all together and form another Infantry Division and disperse the vehicles and weaponry currently associated with that division to the Infantry Divisions to give them even more fire power than they currently have now,” cited the General. The Halland Military by far has the largest stand-alone Infantry Divisions in all of the Hall Nations. Most of the Divisions average just over 300 combat troops and three Divisions are fully mechanized. The last military restructure occurred early last year in which Halland’s Field Artillery Division was eliminated and the artillery dispersed throughout the Infantry Divisions based on need.

Another topic from the press conference was about growing threats in the region which included threats from McDonaldland, the Hallsaw Pact, and the Sammy Government. The General described the Hallsaw Pact as a "cancer which must not spread to other neighboring nations.” The General also believes that McDonaldland is "becoming more aggressive” and if not careful could, "destabilize the region further.” However, when talking about the Sammyville Government, the General began giggling and eventually busted out with laughter for several minutes. As the laughter died down, the General said, "It’s a nation not worth trusting since they have reneged on commitments.”
