Halland's HQ Combat Division Officially 'Inactive'

Halland News – The Halland military has just announced that the HQ Combat Division is now officially "Inactive” and many of the military personnel and equipment from that Division have been dispersed to the 4th and 5th Mechanized Infantry Divisions. The news does not come as a surprise as General Amongstus hinted for months that the move was imminent. However, the news comes as Sammyville Government Officials are in town visiting.

"Both the 4th and 5th Mechanized Infantry Divisions were on the lighter side from a personnel standpoint and we wanted to ensure we had the necessary personnel to ensure both Divisions were fully combat operational,” stated the 4th Mechanized Infantry Division Commander. "There are still personnel and equipment that will remain as the HQ Combat Division transitions into the new 17th Mechanized Infantry Division.”

Halland News was informed that it can take up to six months for the 17th Mechanized Infantry Division to become fully combat operational. As of now, the Halland military has over 200 new military personnel going through training which will form the backbone of the new 17th Mechanized Infantry Division. "Equipment right now for the new Division is very light, but in the coming months we hope to have everything in place,” advised the Division Commander for the 17th Infantry Division. "The new military personnel going through Basic Training should finish up by mid-July.”

The last time military personnel were dispersed from one Division to another occurred just after the "Battle of Annabelle” in which the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Division assaulted the town of Annabelle after it was taken over by Hall Republic Forces in 2015. The 3rd Mechanized Infantry assault team was virtually rendered combat ineffective after taking too many casualties and could not finish securing the town without the assistance from the 1st Infantry Division and Hallville Forces. Key learnings were discovered months after the battle which indicated that the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Division was too light from a personnel standpoint to conduct an assault on such a large and dug in adversary. The Division was eventually beefed up months after the battle from military personnel that also came from the HQ Combat Division.
