Halland News – Recent land acquisitions by the McDonaldland Government has garnered the attention of General Amongstus. According to recent news, McDonaldland has annexed up to half of Evelynland. If the deal goes through between the two parties, a portion of the McDonaldland border will extend towards Hall Republic. This is the second such instance that McDonaldland has conducted a land grab from Evelynland.
"General Amongstus has been briefed on the news and it completely took him by surprise,” stated a military official. "Shortly after the briefing, the General had a closed door meeting with his Division Commanders and the HIA about the developing situation.” After the closed door meeting, the General tweeted out "Halland condemns the McDonaldland land acquisition from Evelynland. This will be dealt with!!
Although it’s not clear what the General meant by his response, but why would the McDonaldland Government continue to conduct land grabs? The 1st Hall War was fought over the abundant natural resources that Evelynland possesses and the Evelynland Treaty Accord signed by the warring parties forced everyone out. McDonaldland could be after those resources in a non-combatant attempt to not violate any treaties.
However, the more rational response would be to acquire additional land in order to force the Halland Military to defend a larger border. Already, the Halland Military has three large Mechanized Infantry Divisions tightly packed along the border of McDonaldland and a broader border could stretch them out further.
Hallville certainly benefits from the land acquisition because McDonaldland would almost completely enclose the occupied section of Sammyville. The Sammyville Government could face an attack by Hallville on multiple fronts instead of one. If the Hallville Government stations troops into the annexed area, it would surely cause a conflict with Halland and the Hall Republic. Already, Hallville appeared to have heavy equipment and troops inside McDonaldland but intelligence obtained by the HIA suggests that those troops and equipment have recently returned back to Hallville.
As a military confrontation between Hallville and Sammyville remain imminent, it appears Halland may end up indirectly assisting Sammyville if the General follows through with his words.
