Halland News – The Halland Government has just confirmed that ‘several’ Hallville soldiers are currently in custody but did not specify how or why they were taken into custody. According to military officials, the Hallville soldiers are part of an elite Special Forces unit that may have assisted in the seizure of the 50 Halland soldiers from the 1st Infantry Division in 2016 when they were deployed inside Hallville. After Hallville seized the Halland soldiers, they were handed over to HSSR. Ten of the Halland soldiers were later executed on June 29, 2016 by four HSSR military personnel and the remaining 40 Halland soldiers were finally released back to Halland nearly five months later on November 14, 2016.
Military officials have acknowledged that having Hallville military personnel in Halland custody could lead to significant conflict with Hallville or it may lead to heavier cooperation with the Hallville government pertaining to the extradition of the four HSSR executioners. "I think by having these specific Hallville soldiers in custody brings credibility to Halland but will foster a more proactive approach when it comes to negotiations with Hallville,” stated one military official. "Let’s not forget that Hallville still has blood on their hands and has not been working with us in bringing justice to those responsible for the executions. I’m sure Hallville is familiar with the expression ‘an eye for an eye’.”
Military officials have stated that it’s possible that the Hallville Government will not negotiate but there are plans in place in the event that occurs. "If Hallville doesn’t want to negotiate, then these soldiers will either go through a military tribunal or a public trial. I’m sure a Halland jury will make the correct call in the event the trial goes public. It’s also possible that the Hallville soldiers could be turned over to the Hall Republic who have a history of human rights violations.”
Military officials have indicated that the military is on high alert and that the Halland Intelligence Agency (HIA) is monitoring intelligence channels across the Hall Nations. This news comes at a very tense time as several Hall Nation officials are set to meet at the end of this month in Evelynland.
