The government of Motherland announced an investigation this week after reports surfaced that false intelligence and misinformation may have influenced several recent events that sent the Hall Nations into a global high alert military status regarding a chemical attack on Sammyville. It appears that Area 67 was trying to start a war among the Hall Nations. Officials stated that spreading inaccurate information can have serious consequences and warned citizens against sharing unverified claims. Authorities are currently reviewing evidence to determine if any others were involved in their dangerous and dishonorable conduct.
At the center of the investigation are 3 soldiers, Col. John
Boogerbeard, Cpt. Kyle Grasslong, and Cpt. Stanley Ruffenstuff. The soldiers were peacefully handed over to the McDonaldland military 3 weeks
ago for detainment. The Motherland wants to extend a special thanks for their
cooperation to Area 67 for their fast investigation to identify who put the
false information out to the public through local and national media
outlets. The government emphasized that all individuals involved will
receive a thorough investigation before any final decisions are made regarding
their punishment. The Motherland will accept input from all the other Hall
Nations as to what needs to be the punishment for this crime, so this type of
misinformation and fear mongering does not happen again.
In a public statement, officials said that judgment for those
found guilty will be a dishonorable discharge, and punishment recommended from
the Nations will be swift and severe. The government also announced plans to
strengthen procedures for verifying intelligence and preventing the spread of
false reports. A peaceful protest came to the site of the southeastern Hall
Nations perimeter.
