The Halland military has successfully completed testing of a new mobile surface-to-air missile (SAM) system designed to counter enemy aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles, officials announced.
The system is mounted on a half-track vehicle, giving it a high degree of mobility and allowing it to be rapidly deployed across different terrain. Military authorities said the vehicle is equipped with a rotating turret capable of tracking aerial targets and launching up to two interceptor missiles simultaneously.
According to the Halland military, the SAM system is intended to engage threats approaching from both short and long distances, providing a faster and more flexible response to modern aerial attacks.
Defense officials described the test results as a significant step forward for the country’s air defense capabilities, noting that the system allows hostile aerial threats to be detected and neutralized quickly.
