Halland Soldiers Return Home

Halland News – General Amongstus announced earlier today that the 40 Halland Military Personnel, which were held against their will, are now safely back in Halland. The hand over occurred this past Friday near the border of McDonaldland.

According to sources, a small contingent of Hallville soldiers released the 40 Halland military personnel from the 1st Infantry Division. In addition, the remains of the 10 executed Halland military personnel were also given back. In an effort to avoid a potential conflict during the exchange, a small but potent McDonaldland force with heavy tanks served as a mediator.

Sources stated that tensions were high on all sides as members of the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Division provided security until all forty soldiers were accounted for. Apparently this meeting was weeks in the planning. "The General had been in talks with the Hallville Leader and McDonaldland leadership in an effort to safely secure the military personnel that were seized by HSSR troops earlier in the year,” cited a government source.

One of the 3rd Infantry soldiers stated that if a mediating force was not present, that the situation could have turned for the worse. "Without a doubt, if a force from McDonaldland were not present, members of our platoon would have fired on Hallville soldiers because of our distrust of them,” stated one soldier.

But as Hallville attempts to make amends for its past wrong doings, is that enough to repair a fractured relationship? "I think not,” said a retired advisor that worked under General Amongstus. "I believe now that the abducted men have been returned that the General will not hold back justice. In fact, the General has all the public support in this country to bring justice to those that were responsible for the slaying of those ten soldiers.”

The Halland Government has stated that the threat of invasion is still very real and that efforts to deter the Hallsaw Pact from invading proved successful thanks to the readiness of the Halland Military and the support provided by the Hall Republic.

In the meantime, the families of those that were executed will have time to mourn and bury their loved ones now that they have closure. For the forty Halland military personnel released by Hallville, they will take about a month off to visit with family and friends before meeting back up with their respective units.
