Halland News – General Amongstus and the Halland Military have been working towards modernizing the military during the past two years and have moved one step closer to that goal. As of today, the 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th Mechanized Infantry Divisions have been renamed the 13^th, 14^th, and 15^th Mechanized Infantry Divisions. Essentially, those Divisions will now have the number 1 in front of their original Division number.

"The purpose behind the renaming is to differentiate the Mechanized Infantry Divisions from the regular Infantry Divisions,” added General Amongstus. "New unit patches have been created in order to show the distinctions. The mechanized divisions will have a dark blue bar in the upper left hand corner of the patch.”

According to military officials, regular infantry divisions are not equipped with armored personnel carriers (APC’s), attack Humvees, and other supporting vehicles like those of the mechanized divisions. The Halland Military has a total of four mechanized Infantry Divisions (13^th, 14^th, 15^th, and 17^th). The 17^th Mechanized Infantry Division, formally known as the HQ Combat Division, is still some months away from being combat ready. The regular Infantry Divisions are the 1^st and 2^nd Infantry Divisions. There is also a Reserve Division. So in total, the Halland Military has 7 Infantry Divisions.

With the 3^rd Mechanized Infantry retiring its Division name, it was the first mechanized Infantry Division that the Halland Military created. The Division saw reserve action in the 1^st Hall War without sustaining any casualties. However, in July 2015, the Division lost 215 military personnel while attempting to retake the town of Annabelle, Halland from a Hall Republic unit that seized the town.

The 4^th and 5^th Mechanized Infantry Divisions had yet to see combat but these division names will also be retired. Military officials have stated that even though three divisions have been renamed, all of the equipment and military personnel remain the same. "They just renamed the divisions, that’s all,” cited one official.

By early 2019, the Halland Military is expected to be fully modernized. Pictured below is an example of a mechanized infantry division patch and a map designating where the Infantry Divisions are deployed across Halland.
