As Hurricane Approaches, Mandatory Evacuations Underway

Halland News – A hurricane is approaching the coast of Eastern Halland and General Amongstus has ordered a mandatory evacuation for certain areas. The storm is expected to impact portions of Halland in the coming days. The Halland Military has been called upon to assist with the evacuations in addition to removing military equipment from a base in Northeastern Halland so vehicles and equipment aren’t damaged. Both the Reserve Division and the 2nd Infantry Division are the only Divisions assisting so far.

The General is meeting with emergency management officials every hour and actively monitoring the Hurricane’s progress. The storm is expected to bring heavy wind and rain that will impact travel later this week. The storm surge is also expected to cause significant damage to the Halland coastline and city infrastructure. A significant clean-up effort will be underway once the storm passes through and the General has already pledged military assistance.

Military personnel from the Reserve Division (pictured below) have begun staging supplies for road closures which will be enforced beginning Thursday morning. According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm is scheduled to slam the Halland northeastern coastline sometime Friday. Roads are already jammed with traffic (pictured below) in which residents in the mandatory evacuation areas have begun fleeing the storm.
