But Auburn responded with receiver Priscilla Hall catching a couple of passes on key third down conversions to keep a drive going that set-up a touchdown run by Mike. Facing 3rd and Goal from the Alabama 2 –yard line, Auburn opted to run a toss sweep with Mike crashing into to the end zone to get the Tigers back in the game at 19-12. With the momentum swinging Auburn’s way, the Auburn defense also stepped up getting a huge interception. While at the Alabama 10-yard line, Teddy scrambled to his right and got to about the two where he was almost stood up but ended up punishing the defender with a lick of his own to go in for the score to make it a 19-18 game. Trailing by a point, Teddy was able to make the extra point to knot the game 19-19.
However, Alabama wasn’t done yet. Again, the offense was able to move down the field methodically which ended up as another touchdown run from the Bama quarterback on a 5 yard scramble to wrestle the lead back 25-19. The Fourth quarter has never been kind to Auburn yet in this rivalry and this year was no exception. Auburn quarterback Teddy was flushed out of the pocket and forced the ball into coverage that was picked off by Matt and returned for a touchdown to extend the Bama lead 31-19. With Teddy on the sideline due to a knee injury on the last play, Auburn running back Mike Hall assumed the signal calling position and marched the Tigers down the field and found wide-out Richard Doviak for the score to make it 31-25. Alabama would add on another touchdown late in the fourth quarter with David scrambling in for his third rushing touchdown of the game to seal the victory 37-25.
Auburn’s Priscilla Hall garnered game’s MVP after catching a few clutch passes to keep Auburn in the game late. Defensive End Jonathon Hall also had a stellar day getting one sack and rushing many throws that led to two interceptions.
Alabama’s defense was led by stand-out corner Cindie finished the game with two interceptions and one sack. Defensive pressure by DE Donnie Saldana, CB Megan Gray, LB Wendi Dockery, and LB Marc Hall forced 4 interceptions by two different Auburn quarterbacks that proved to be the difference.
Injuries were common throughout the game with many to note after a hard hitting and sometimes brutal contest. Auburn’s Richard Doviak (shoulder/ribs); Teddy Hall (knee, broken finger); Mike Hall (toe). Alabama's only significant injury was to WR/CB Cindie with a finger injury.
